I recently earned my master’s degree in software engineering. During my undergrad, I was the informal project manager for my group projects. I made sure our professors knew our team, which helped our grades, since a presentation goes a lot better when the professor knows everyone by name. I also filled in what was missing from our requirements, which put us ahead of groups that were not asking those questions.

I have done everything from Linux to machine learning algorithms. I run a home lab where I host my own website, Linux servers, and security camera servers. On team projects, I was the go-to AWS person for setting up infrastructure, making sure our programs had the compute, databases, and everything else they needed to run correctly, including during our demos.

For my master’s, I chose the courses that lead up to large language models: statistics, machine learning, big data, and algorithms. They taught me why large language models work the way they do and how AI got to where it is today, so I understand what happens under the hood, not just how to use ChatGPT.

Outside of engineering, I have a wonderful family that supports me in everything I do.
